Al-Nisr was a great hero, who came from the East long ago on his
pegasus Durpar in search of (according to the Book of the
Eagle's Way) the Holy Grail. He travelled by the
Beggar City of Tovilyis, where he met his scribe Qima, whom he
cured of the Blue Pox. Al-Nisr cleared the Lakes of monsters,
driving them deep into the Forest of Sibilan. Still seeking the
Grail, he never returned from an expedition to the Red Rock, but he
left a legacy of goodness and justice which was never forgotten by
the Lake Men. Al-Nisr possessed a magical sword and medallion,
neither of which have ever been recovered.
- Campaigns:
- Stormlands, Old Coast
Arborius is a dour elven ranger, trained by Vardin and the
Protectors and with more loyalty to them and to his friend Kellin
than to other elves. He says little, but observes much.
- Campaigns:
- Stormlands 2
Sir Arcturus was a knight of Berghof who fled that kingdom to
escape Malac's reign of terror. He ended up at Lord
Weemsley hold in the Stormlands's. He helped Daphne in
her attack on Caer Tollund, and became its first warden after Lord
Tollund defeat.
- Campaigns:
- Stormlands 2
Black Annie (Annelle) was the river pirate captain of the
Revenge, until it was treacherously
captured by Cap'n Bastinado and his crew, in the late
winter of the Year of the Dragon.
Annelle is a middle-aged woman with long black hair. In days
past, she was married to Fritz the Pulveriser; when he died she
took up piracy. It was Fritz who gave her her silver comb, her most
treasured possession. About twenty years ago, she ferried the Druid
Oovra up the Hlal from the Stormlands to the Thon-Thalas river
outside the Elven Wood. There she captured Griflet, but released
him. From that over-friendly encounter, she became pregnant with
Westley and Buttercup, whom she raised for fourteen years before
turning them loose. Annelle's current lover is Mumlo,
a muscle-bound Easterner.
After the Revenge was hijacked, she
pretended to be infatuated with Captain Bastinado. However, Griflet
intervened and killed Bastinado and his ratmen, then comandeered
the Revenge himself to return to
Elvenhome at speed.

Black Arrow and Christian of the High Passes.
- Campaigns:
- Stormlands 2
- Deceased,
- slain by Bloodbane at the Battle of Imric
's Hold
(Dog*Black Witch*Ogre).
Briath and Memrian were Griflet's loyal rangers. They
accompanied him to Red Rock and then to the Nightmare, where they
perished. Briath was stealthy and lean, Memrian fought with a huge
woodman's axe.
- Campaigns:
- Old Coast
- Deceased,
- slain by Griflet, Toad*White Witch*Gorgon
Celedril was the first elven king, the father of Imric and Coryon.
At the Battle of Sorrows, the first conflict in the Elf-Quarmall
war, Celedril was mortally wounded by a Quarmallian demonlord which
inhabited his body. Although close to death, the king could not
die. Imric and Coryon sealed him in the tower of Zeçy and
departed the Blessed Isle for the Lankhmar continent.
The king remained in the tower, neither wholly dead nor wholly
sane. The tower was protected by the Wild Elves. After the
Nightmare, Griflet (with the Icon of the Dragon), Kellin, Arborius,
Leonore and Windwood entered the tower. Celedril adopted Griflet as
his heir and restored the Icon of the Dragon to it's
original Law Stone form. Celedril's last command was
to order his own execution, an order which Griflet regretfully
carried out.
- Campaigns:
- Griflet
's Adventures
Corinth is the successor to Ash as leader of House Protector of the
elves. He says little, but observes much. He helped Griflet to
recover Bloodbane's treasure hoard. Until
Griflet's elevation to heir, Corinth shared power in
the elven compound with Gorianthas and Tolinthis.

Medallion (and unwittingly, to their deaths).

at the Battle of Shadow Valley.
- Campaigns:

Prince Eder was Imric's only surviving heir. All his
life, Eder wanted desperately to be accepted by his father, who was
obsessed with his dead wife, Elthiria. Just prior to the Stormlands
campaign, Eder and his brother Eslim (along with
Eslim's human friend Philo) attempted to slay the Grey
Man. They failed. Eslim was killed by the Druids and Eder was
turned to stone in a basilisk's lair on the edge of
the Stormlands. Eder was rescued by Griflet during the Stormlands
Campaign. Eder hated druids. At the Battle of the Fountain Court
(Skunk*Seed*Behemoth), at the culmination of the Stormlands
Campaign, Eder slew his half-brother the Grey Man.

Tovilyis, which Helias accepted.
- Campaigns:
- Stormlands, Stormlands 2
- Deceased,
- died of grief after the Battle of Imric
's Tower on
Dog*Black Witch*Ogre.
Imric was king of the Elven Wood and son of Celedril. But ever
since the death of his wife Elthiria, he did not stir from his
Tower, and would see no one except Gilthiriel. Obsessed with
revenge upon the Grey Man, he commissioned Griflet to kill the
renegade druid in the Stormlands Campaign. Imric's
relationship with his son Eder was somewhat distant. Imric owned
the Icon of the Dragon for almost a century, ever since his wife
brought it to him from Tovilyis. The elves built a magical tower to
contain it, but Imric placed Oovra in it instead, preferring to
keep the Icon near him. The Icon eventually brought doom to the
elves by summoning Bloodbane, the Foe to Imric's Hold.
- Campaigns:
- Fellowship of Mystery, Old Coast
Kellin is an elven adventurer who has roamed far and wide over the
Lankhmar Continent, mostly with his friends Arborius and Griff the
Gallant. He has also adventured with Madwan the Bard and later with
Griflet. Kellin returned to Elven lands after the Nightmare, to
help out where he could. He is a brave, sometimes headstrong
leader, always cheerful with an infectious laugh.
- Campaigns:
- Old Coast
Leonore is a young elf who joined Griflet after the Nightmare.
Leonore is the last elf of the House of Geomancers, whose other
members were destroyed by Bloodbane. Leonore helped Griflet with
what he knew of the Law Stones and the Icon of the Dragon. On the
night of Toad*White Witch*Gorgon, Leonore was trapped in Celedril
tower on the Isle of Zeçy. Griflet promised to return and
free him. Eventually (Snow Moon, the following year) Griflet did
return with the Book of the Shadow
Three. The book contained an invocation which Leonore could
cast to enable his escape. The spell was a partial success, but
enough for Leonore to escape from the tower.

Who is the third who walks always beside you?
When I count, there are only you and I together
But when I look ahead up the white road
There is always another one walking beside you
Gliding wrapt in a brown mantle, hooded
I do not know whether a man or a woman
- But who is that on the other side of you?
T.S. Eliot The Waste
Land
Mysteriones was originally a life-force stolen from the Dragon
Bloodbane by Coryon, by means of the Icon of the Dragon. It could
not exist alone, but attached itself to the souls of various hosts:
Coryon, Bolga, Philo, King Thugriff and Griflet. Mysteriones
appeared as a second shadow of its host. Mysteriones could only
change hosts when one died, but each time this occurred, it gained
intelligence and became more separate from Bloodbane's
old lifeforce. Not separate enough, however, for when Bloodbane
died, so did Mysteriones, although it made a last effort to avoid
destruction by attempting to take over Griflet's (its
last owner's) body.

Oovra was the druid most loyal to Archdruid Cathaw after the Grey
Man's coup. Oovra was the Guardian of Castle Kulg. As
such, he had access to the Rod of Kulg. When Cathaw was killed by
the Grey Man, Oovra took the Rod and smashed one of the statuettes
from the Fountain of Dark Abundance and fled. He stashed the
statuette in a cave on the edge of the Stormlands and returned to
Castle Kulg, where he hid the Rod in a secret room. He then
travelled (via the Revenge) from the
Stormlands to the elven wood to warn Imric, who had him imprisoned
for his trouble.
Oovra lay in slumber in the tower until he was rescued by

cautious and unusual friendship. Polydices even helped Griflet to
defeat the Grey Man. Later, in the Lake-lands, Polydices again
contacted Griflet, this time to warn him about the Chaos gate which
had opened in Tovilyis. After the Nightmare, Griflet and Polydices
tracked down and killed Bloodbane, thus revenging both their
peoples.
