- Fellowship of Mystery
Berghof is a kingdom on the Sword Coast of the western Lankhmar
Continent, bordered by the Outer Sea to the west, the Mountains of
Hunger to the east, the Stormlands to the north and the Great
Southern Swamp. Berghof was founded by renegade nobles from the
city of Lankhmar who conquered the local folk.
Berghof's capital and largest city is Carse and it is
ruled by a Baron (a remnant of the kingdom's origins).
Berghof was the home territory of the Fellowship of Mystery for
most of its career. After their departure, Malac tyrannised Berghof
for a time with his undead soldiers, until defeated by resistance
organised by knights formerly loyal to the old Baron. Many fled
Berghof during Malac's Tyranny, including Sir Arcturus
of Lawden and Albrecht von Linden and his family. The Dunmere Hills
adventure took place to the south of Berghof.

- Tech-na's Travels
The Bnazic Desert is a mild desert in the land of Mnar with plants
which look vaguely like coral. Three-humped sea camels are the food
and livelihood of the tribes of Bnazie. At night, various luminous
animals twinkle like stars in the sands. Three of the largest oases
in the Bnazic Desert are those of Phoon, Uk and the Oasis of
Ekk'il.
- Campaigns:
- Tech-na's Travels
One of the oases of the Bnazic Desert, ruled by a sheik with no
sons. Tech-na-Chuk-Chuk-Wakae-Hazar met Grandfather Wa'aii here.
Other kown residents of the oasis community are Emrei Wa'aii,
Ambuul and Ba'Tun the Drug Merchant.
- Campaigns:
- Tech-na's Travels
A town just to the south of the Bnazic desert; the locals profess
to worship no gods, and are renowned for their down-to-earth
pragmatism. Dothar is the main trading town which connects the
Bnazic Desert with the Three Cities.
- Campaigns:
- Tulan
A village on the road between Tulan and the Mountains of Hunger. It
is located near the road to Eylea. The inn is the 'Drojan Horse',
most nights the scene of much local merry-making.
- Campaigns:
- Tulan
The Drusewude lies on the road west of Tulan on the way to Carse.
The Black Hats have been known to camp there.
- Campaigns:
- Stormlands, Stormlands 2, Old Coast
The elven wood is the northern Forest of Sibilan. It used to be
ruled from Imric's Hold by the elves, but since the
Nightmare it has been home only to fairies and sprites and a few
worse things. A few elves still linger in the twilit trees, but
most have gone.

The rede of Eslim's
Grave
Here lies Eslim
Son of Imric
Slain by Grithir
On the worm
Of Wolf, of Ogre
A curse on Grithir
And his Grey Man
Imric's blood
Shall be avenged
And so be cleansed
Eder goes north
To dragon's jaws
Philo is gone
And so is Eslim
Eder goes alone.
A lonely spot in the wilds near Torth in the Stormlands. Eslim was
buried here by his brother Eder.
- Campaigns:
- Stormlands 2, Old Coast
The Forest of Sibilan covers a large area of the eastern Lankhmar
Continent. It is the second largest forest in Nehwon. Within the
forest are several areas and factions. The northern forest was
until recently the domain of the elves. The Throat is the narrow
section of the Lankhmar continent between the Mountains of Hunger
and the sea, south of Moorsh. The Druids live there. Near Lorn
Velpa is the Protectorate, home to both the Protectors and the
elves. The rest of the forest is the Wild.
- Campaigns:
- Stormlands, Stormlands 2, Old Coast
The River Hlal runs from the Lakes of Pleea (the Upper Hlal runs
from the Upper Lake of Pleea to the Great Lake) along the eastern
side of the Mountains of Hunger to its mouth near Lankhmar on the
Inner Sea. The Quarmallian Canal joins it with the Sea of the East
at Antim Town. The Hlal is navigable along its entire length.

's
Adventures
Imric's Hold is a magical tower in a clearing in the
Elven Wood. Only elves can see it properly. Once it was the tower
of Lord Imric of the elves and his folk. Griflet Graycyon hailed
from here also, and he used the Hold as a base during the
Stormlands Campaign. During the Stormlands 2 Campaign,
Imric's Hold was destroyed by the Dragon Bloodbane.
After the Nightmare, the site caused bad dreams to those elves who
lingered in the area. The tower was abandoned when Griflet led the
elves southwards to the Lake-lands of Pleea. The site holds the
graves of Imric, Prince Eslim, Prince Eder and (of lesser
importance to the elves) Lana Softhooves, Karl of the Krow, Oovra,
Astalin, Briath and Memrian are also buried here.
- Campaigns:
- Stormlands
Castle Kulg is a small keep located near the river Hlal in the
southeastern Stormlands. It was built to by the Druids to keep
watch over the nearby prison of Bolga. Oovra was the last official
guardian of Castle Kulg before Bolga was released. Afterwards it
lay derelict for a time, until King Thugriff made it his residence.
Philo and Strawberry Fields died here at different times. Currently
Castle Kulg is empty and its keys are held by Griflet.

's Adventures
The Lakes of Pleea are three large freshwater lakes far to the
south of Lankhmar along the River Hlal: the Great Lake, the Leser
Lake and the Upper Lake. They are bordered on the west by the
Mountains of Hunger and on the east by the Forest of Sibilan and
(in the case of the Upper Lake) the Sighing Plain. The area is
inhabited by the Lake-Men, who live in small fishing villages and
one large town (Lorn Velpa). Around the Great Lake are the towns of
Pillory (where the Hlal leaves the lake), Tilwell, Lost Hollow, and
Voon-Voon, also Richmond and Stolluck on the southern shore.
Between the Great Lake and the Lesser Lake and the Upper Hlal and
Adler Rivers are the Twixwater Meadows; here can be found the
splendid free town of Lorn Velpa, along with the villages of Nisra
and Upper Tufftoe.
The land grows less fertile between the Lesser Lake and the
Upper Lake, especially as one wanders further south; this region is
known as the Sourwater Plain. The villages of Adler and Son-Adler
are located here, on the south shore of the Lesser Lake. Adler
stands at the entrance to the Pass of Adlerweg which leads to the
land of Berghof. Not far to the west of Son-Adler, where the Upper
Lake drains to the Upper Hlal River, is the town of Highbury. South
across the sparsely populated Sourwater Plain are the towns of
Swallow and Hungerville, on the north shore of the vast Upper Lake
of Pleea.
Although currently peaceful, the Lake-lands have seen much
strife in the past. Bolga raised an army of Beastmen from the Wild
Wold against Lorn Velpa which was defeated with the help of
Al-Nisr. Later, soon after Griflet and Astalin's visit
to the region, Gralik M'ai tried a similar trick, with
similar results thanks to the Protectors. Karl of the Krow and Lana
Softhooves also visited the Lake-lands, while searching for
Al-Nisr's medallion
- Campaigns:
- Tech-na's Travels
The land of Mnar is one of the oldest and most isolated in all of
Nehwon. It is bordered by the Poisoned Desert to the west, the
sharp Mountains of the Elder Ones to the south. Far to the
southeast, beyond the Mountains of the Elder Ones lies the decadent
city-empire of Eevanmarensee, where even the cats and dogs are
hairless. To the north laps the waters of the Sea of Monsters while
to the north and east are the Parched Mountains and beyond them,
Shadowland, Death's abode.
Although surrounded by terrain which most Nehwonians fear to
cross, the lands of Mnar are pleasant enough. In the west are the
blue and green sands of the Bnazic Desert, which extends to the
shore of the Sea of Monsters. East of the Bnazic Desert are wide
plains, mostly occupied by small villages and goatherds. Along the
River Ai, between the Mountains of the Elder Ones and the Sea of
Monsters are three great old cities: Kadatheron, Iganok and Thraa.
Once, long ago, there was a fourth: Sarnath the Doomed.
- Campaigns:
- Stormlands 2, Griflet
's Adventures
A quiet and peaceful tavern on a cobbled street in Lorn Velpa.
Griflet, Arborius, Kellin, Karl of the Krow and Lana Softhooves
have all stayed here at various times.
- Campaigns:
- Stormlands 2
The Red Rock is a spire of unusually pigmented rock which rises
from the foothills of the Mountains of Hunger on the western shore
of the Upper Lake of Pleea. A narrow carved stair climbs up to the
pinnacles, an open space with many statues and carvings. Coryon had
his sanctum here, and it was from here he watched the destruction
of his city of Tovilyis. Griflet came here seeking information and
barely escaped with his life when Coryon's Horrible
Abomination of Stone attacked him at the summit.
- Campaigns:
- Tulan
A reputable gaming house in Tulan, where Cyric of Tulan met Johnny
Northside.
- Campaigns:
- Stormlands, Stormlands 2
The Stormlands are an area of rugged, dreary moors about a hundred
miles wide in the north of the Lankhmar Continent on the world of
Nehwon. The Stormlands are bordered to the west by marshes and the
cold Outer Sea; to the north by a desolate area known as the Red
Fallows; to the east by the broad-flowing River Hlal and the Forest
of Sibilan; and by the foothills of the Mountains of Hunger to the
south.
The Stormlands are ruled by a dozen odd petty barons (formerly
including Lord Carkspur, Lord Hellpus , Lord Tollund and Lord
Weemsley), who war with each other constantly for possession of the
small villages which dot the moors. There is only one small town in
the Stormlands - Frogton, on the banks of the Hlal. None of the
barons control Frogton, and it is a vital strategic source of
troops and supplies for the lords' fueds.
The Stormlands have not been ruled by a single king (the last
royal house was the House of Podgett)for almost a century, and the
lords' wars have become constant and bitter. Warfare
has disrupted the meagre economy of the region; despair and poverty
are everywhere. To make matters worse, monsters have thrived almost
unchecked in the bleak moors and the ruined places, making life in
the Stormlands even more hazardous. However, the area is like a
magnet to rogues, adventurers, freebooters and mercenaries.
The Stormlands was the setting for the Stormlands Campaign.
- Campaigns:
- Stormlands 2, Old Coast
Tovilyis the City of Beggars squats on the Sighing Plain between
the Forest of Sibilan and Whispering Earth to the south. Once
Tovilyis was a fair city of the elves, ruled by Coryon. Now darker
things stalk its rubbled streets. At the beginning of the Human
Age, the main Quarmallian army was besieging the city. Coryon, in
his hatred of Quarmall, fashioned his Law Stone into the Icon of
the Dragon. This action summoned Bloodbane who, in a rage destroyed
the city. So many elven and Quarmallian lives were lost that the
war between them was effectively over, though no peace terms were
ever agreed. The city itself lay in ruins. Gradually for unknown
reasons, the despairing, the lame, the outcast of every race and
nation seeped into the city, also dark things from beneath the
Mountains of Hunger. Tovilyis became the City of Beggars.
In more recent times, a gate to Limbo opened in the city which
led to the realm of a race kin to the Quarmallians. Polydices tried
to recruit Griflet to destroy the gate just before the onset of the
Nightmare. In the early Year of the Gorgon, a renegade member of
the other-dimensional race called Gralik M'ai,
attempted to use the beggars and Beast-men of the nearby Wild Wold
to attack the Lake-Men. However this force was defeated by the
Protectors.
Griflet entered Tovilyis with his band in late Spring of the
Year of the Gorgon, searching for knowledge with which to save
Leonore from the Tower of Zeçy. Beneath the city he found
the Shawei and their Grimlock slaves.

Whispering Earth is located on the eastern Lankhmar Continent,
south of the Lakes of Pleea. Its borders are the Sighing Plain and
Tovilyis to the north, the Sea of the East to the east, the
Mountains of Hunger to the west and the Quarmall Barrens to the
south. This Elven land was reclaimed from the Barrens by Griflet,
who is now its ruler.
- Campaigns:
- Stormlands 2, Griflet
's Adventures
The Wild is home to the Beast-men. These are humans and other
creatures whose ancestors became degenerate under Quarmallian
influence. They were created by the Quarmallians to harry the elves
in the forests, where the Quarmallian power was weakest. Mostly the
Beastmen are disorganised, but occasionally a leader like Bolga
arises amongst them and causes havoc to the Lake-lands. The Wild
encompasses most of the southern Forest of Sibilan, from the Hlal
to the Sighing Plain to the Sea of the East. Bloodbane lived in a
cave in a huge black rock in the Wild, near a bay called the Grave
of Ships.
